Tournaments


Region 201 hosts the oldest-running AYSO tournament on the East Coast.  The tournament is offered once in the fall and once in the spring.  It originally began as an “All Star” event in the spring of 1989 and immediately transitioned into a tournament format.  The name, The Wiz of Oss, comes from the name of Ossining High School ’s year book (“The Wizard”) and the town of Ossining . 

As many as 60 teams have participated in past tournaments (U-9 through U-14).  All games are covered by AYSO-certified three-person volunteer officiating teams.  All players receive a participation medal.  First-place teams receive a Championship trophy.  The Sportsmanship Medal, the tournament’s most-prestigious award, goes to the team within each division that receives the highest sportsmanship points.
